  1. Followed the instructions that C2dan88 linked and it worked like a charm. By going into the thread as well I got more helpful info, that I need to update my DP firmware because I have a 10 series GPU. This explained the black screen I was getting. All sorted now and ready for Windows 11. Thanks for the extra info and warnings about data loss.
  2. Worked like a charm! Instructions really easy to follow. Thank you so much!
  3. Been doing the PC Check thing to get ready for Windows 11. I've enabled TPM and that's now appearing in the Check app. It now says the only thing making me not compatible is secure boot. So in my BIOS I disabled CSM and enabled secure boot. After doing this my PC wouldn't post after 5 restarts and then it eventually did and the BIOS reverted back to CSM enabled. Anyone know if this is something that can be fixed?
  4. Already picked my parts and bought some of them as they were on sale. Just had a few questions before buying the rest to ensure compatibility and prices. Here's my build: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/TygVvf My Questions: I can currently get the 5600X for £250 is that the best price do you think over the next few months? I've picked that cooler because everyone raves about it and my PC isn't in the best airflow place. The big thing is will it fit in the case and the RAM won't get in the way? Is the smaller version a good compromise? Anyon
  5. I've gone back to my old build which I had to reinstall Windows. Tbh it runs a lot faster now so I don't mind waiting. Not desperate for a new PC so I'll just wait. Thanks!
  6. Sorry I should have mentioned that I have already sent the build back and awaiting refund. Just want to see what the general feeling is on buying again. Should I just wait for a permanent fix? Don't feel like risking it again
  7. Hi, I ordered a pre-build in the last month as for the first time I have seen, I could get it cheaper than buying parts separately. (Parts Below) I had no issues with PC Specialist however when I turned it on it took 2 minutes to get any video signal and the MB kept saying there was a VGA problem every time I restarted. I did all the usual troubleshooting. Also I wanted to reinstall windows onto the M2 I bought separately but when I had the Windows USB plugged in, the power kept going on and off. Also because the VGA problem, I couldn't access the BIOS as I would see nothing

  9. Thanks everyone! Do these instructions linked below work? Seems straightforward if so: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-transfer-windows-10-license-new-computer-or-hard-drive
  10. I'm waiting to get all my new parts for a new PC I'm building but this is the first time where I'm having to move old hardware as well as the OS. I have a fully licenced Windows 10 on my 2.5" SSD in my current rig. In my new PC I am getting a M.2 drive so I would like to install Windows on that. My question is what is the best way to move Windows over to the new PC? I still have the Windows USB I installed with the first time. I'm actually wanting to do a clean install so what steps do I need to take to do this? Can I simply just plug the USB in the ne
  11. I've told him that before but he's never played on PC and doesn't want to take the leap. How much do you reckon is a fair price to sell him it? Hopefully it makes him get into PC gaming
  12. Hi, Just kind of getting an idea of my budget and looking to sell my current build. My friend has been streaming the last few months but directly off his PS4 and he's looking to get a PC to stream with. He has no desire to play PC games. Is my current PC good enough for him to stream at like 1080p 60FPS with an Elgato? Don't want to sell him it if it's not good enough but I thought it could easy if he's not actually playing and streaming at the same time. If it is good enough what do you reckon is a fair price to sell him it?
  13. In terms of my other questions: Do I need more RAM? Is my current PSU going to be enough? Is my case big enough?
  14. So does the B550 have PCIe 4? I know the 3080 will support that so guessing it's best to have it to get the best out of it. Think I will wait for the 4000 series and if it turns out that it's not the biggest bump at least the 3000 series will be cheaper. thanks
  15. Not called TheTechWizard for nothing. Nothing gets past him!
