Well then, I managed to get myself a rather decent deal on a Maximus IV Gene-Z

post-16906-0-86911200-1380378058_thumb.j

now! which sleeve combination should I go with?

Option 1:

post-16906-0-41453600-1380377779.jpegpost-16906-0-55154400-1380377798.jpegpost-16906-0-18138200-1380377804.jpeg

OR

Option 2:

post-16906-0-55154400-1380377798.jpegpost-16906-0-18138200-1380377804.jpegpost-16906-0-38522800-1380377815.jpeg

a little piece that inspired me to go red and gold.

You...painted...fans?...

Just joking but it does increase noise by a fair bit since the fan blades ain't that streamlined any longer ;)

But other then that I would that you should go with Option 1 on the sleeving cause gold has nothing on that board to do ;)

AHAHAHAHAHAHA...this is reminding me so much of my own rig...Twin Frozr MSI card, ROG board, smaller Noctua cooler. (I hate those little fan clips, also think you're supposed to make the fan clips stick inward and not outward)

Also, go option 3 and use red, white and gold. They'd stand out more, but that's if you have more gold to carry the theme like ram or something. Otherwise, option 1.

If you do your cabling in gold and white with a windowed case and have the Gundam posed inside, this would definitely be masturbation material.

I thought so too, so I tested with 2 first. Turned out fine though. No difference in noise output. At least not that I can hear.

I do have thoughts on modding the motherboard heatsinks too.

So... we shall see what's possible.

BTW, how do I shrink the photos? They're a little too big aren't they?

What is the case you had in your ATX build and what's the case going to be in the mATX build? oh and what are you using to hold your drives in your old build?

Option 1 by far.. It's going to compliment the ROG much better...
