The scaling is amazing If you want i can show you gameplay footage of me getting  144 fps locked at 1440p with AA off in battlefield 4 in a 64 player server. Its superior to sli especially at 1080p. This is a average of these games and benchmarks.

It's a fact that crossfire scales better than SLI. But the thing is, again, not all games support crossfire and some have crappy scaling

No Sir, it is you that has no idea what you're talking about. Have you run crossfire? I did. Close to a hundred games in my Steam library and not one benefited from Crossfire. There were games that had crossfire support, and crossfire profiles. But all of them like The Witcher 3 had issues like flickering in menus. Made any performance gain pointless when your mini map thought it was at a rave party. Please don't be another AMD spokes person clogging up this forum.

I would ask you to wait for the benchmarks and board partners design to come out. As it is right now, the 1080 is overpriced and don't have a good cooler. Same thing about RX 480 when it gonna come out. Just wait.

I know for the Msi one but I haven't seen the other benchmarks of the other coolers like Asus and Zotac. Thx for the friendly insult.

For the RX480: I hope Sapphire is joking with design lol. But, love to see what the other board partners gonna put on it.

There's been some tests with 1080's in SLI, and it seems the average scaling of improvement is around 90%. Bloody awesome.

Not an insult my friend, a jab. Everyone has a card out for Pascal and most of them have been benchmarked.

 

Not a fan of the Sapphire design ether, they seem to have gone more subdued while the rest of the industry went RGB. Might be to keep the cost down, but we'll find out soon.

Last gen nitro cooler design wasn't bad. I don't know why they did the "grinder" design. I was hoping they do a cooler with multiple RGB color strips on it.

The Nitro was great for the GPU but left the VRMs out in the breeze. My 290 performed better than my Nitro 390 because of VRM issues, or I suspect that anyways as the VRM's on my Nitro were out of control compared to my Vapor X. Also was tough getting used to the Dollar Store styling of the Nitro when the Vapor X was one of the best looking graphics cards ever.

 

My hope is the Nitro 480 shown is just the entry level and they bring back the Vapor X.

The Vapor X was one sick cooler. I also very like the Tri-X cooler on the R9 Fury. I think the look on the RX 480 might be a prototype. I wanna keep my hopes on lol.

The MSI lighting looks sick. If they make it reasonably priced I might throw it in a HTPC I'm building. Thought the yellow would match my main rig better. Damnit AMD, Make the 490x so MSI can make a Lighting I can put in my main rig

I prefer the more mainstream targets AMD has set personally and I would probably settle for a single RX card. That's just me though IDK if you're wealthy/enthusiast go ahead.

Did you expect the midrange card of the next lineup to really beat the very top end card of the prior? The 970 didnt beat the 780ti and it was still considered the best ppd card for a long time.

I personally would love to see a card with a cyan color cooler like the vapor-X. The new design has certainly grow on me at this point. It sorta looks modern lol.

the benchmark results are linked at AotS web page which shows the same framerates demonstrated at the live event, and confirm that same preset was used indeed - the highest preset - Crazy for all three 1080p, 1440p, 2160p

 

and it really wouldn't be the first time for nVidia to have broken shaders in a game, especially given their general nature of brokeness with AotS

Yeah, it's been shown long ago AMD used alpha press release drivers... and not the publicly available release drivers that don't have the issue... so again...

ok once again. 
The settings AMD used for the benchmark were Crazy settings with Msaa turned up to x8 from x4.
Crazy settings usually only use x4 this has been increased to make the benchmark more demanding. 

With these settings all the results would not be on the leaderboard as its not stock crazy settings. 
The benchmarks people are getting off the ashes of singularity benchmarks leaderboard aren't the ones being used for the comparison this can be confirmed by none of the settings or versions matching up whatsoever except for a few done a month before computex. 
The Version of the game they benchmarked on was the most current as of computex. i know this because I have the game myself and my version matched the ones stated by AMD marketing reps. 
They performed 10 tests at 1080p for each configuration and then moved up to 1440p with the same settings and performed it 10 more times and each configuration. They confirmed there was the same delta as was present between the two configurations meaning the RX came out on top at 1440p as well. 
The 1080 is failing to execute the snow shader properly and is present on any 1080 in ashes of the singularity.
The 900 series gtx cards do not have this issue. 

AMD was just showing what can be done on a budget when you dont have 700 USD laying around for GPU's. I understand crossfire doesnt work in a lot of games but most of the ones that matter they do. You really should look into it before you do it as if you play a bunch of games that don't support it. its probably not a good idea. I play dozens of newer AAA titles and they all work fine with crossfire with pretty good scaling if not fantastic. (GTA V, Battlefield 1-4, battlefront, need for speed, rally dirt, Star Citizen) most big games support it and the ones who don't aren't really big multiplayer games. 

The 1080 overclocked can achieve 65.2 fps on this same benchmark and is currently king of the unofficial 1080p singlecard benchmark at overclockers.uk which use these same exact settings. That's truly exceptional and i believe the 1080 is hands down the best card in the world. That still doesn't mean it doesn't get beat by 2 RX480's in ashes of the singularity. 

Don't forget the most anticipated shooter in recent memory Battlefield 1 will be developed on the exact same API as ashes of singularity. Async compute will be used extensively in it aswell. Id expect AMD to have a strong advantage once again with there close to the metal approach with dedicated async compute hardware as opposed to whatever nvidia is doing.
