Best way to protect the PC from Power surge / jumps???

Hey guys, we all know , that not always we have control over the Power surge in our apartments  and jumps , or lightning hit. 

So , if you leave in a apartments where you cant have a power generator , that can save the trouble, what would you suggest to use? I mean , there is a power volt saver or so, with the indicator that the system is protected  : some thing like this  http://en.ksp.co.il/?uin=32994&store=KSP03 ..

 

Maybe you can suggest some other cheap way ? Or not cheap? 

I know about all power UPS systems, but lest say , i dont mind if i lose some of my data, and i just want to protect my system/ components from the power surge or jumps, how would you suggest to do it?

Buy a surge protector.

The easiest, cheapest and best way to do this (not considering ups) - good psu, like seasonic.

Sure, it has all of those protections you need, however I didn't use this one personaly. I think, you will be fine. In some extreme cases your system will just shut down, you will lose some data, but it should be ok.

From personal experience, when I have some power jumps in my network (lights flashing, tv restarts and etc.), pc keeps running just as it was (seasonic s12g psu).

wouldn't recommend that one.

If you want to be a baller get UPS, then your pc can run for maybe 1 hour after the power is gone.

I would recommend a good quality surge protector like one from APC, Belkin, Philips, GE, or Trippelite. A very very generic way to tell is that is has a decent surge rating of over a couple thousand joules.
