Computer can't connect to domains other than google

LEVELZERO

So my friend had his modem/router combo reset by his dad. Now he can't connect to any other domain besides google ones eg (google youtube-even the videos). So all in all any help/suggestions are appreciated.

Firewall? perhaps its a whitelist

have you tried pinging various sites? not just using a browser as it may be a computer issue, try pinging somthing like this site, google, and some small sites. If you cant reach them then I would suggest looking into the router settings

used command prompt to ping site and that worked but new browser didn't work. I've asked him about the firewall but he hasn't responded.

try usinga  different browser.

high time to move if it is internet explorer

In the command prompt use command "ipconfig /flushdns" this could fix the issue. 

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Well the problem was network drivers. Just had to restore them to factory defaults.
