Change microphone output to mono in Windows

Narigaur

I have a mono microphone, but when I plug it in, it comes out of the left audio channel, since the plug uses stereo, not mono. Is there a way to get it to output to mono from within Windows?

Right-click on the speaker icon in the task bar and select Playback devices, then look for the device with a green V on it, select it and click properties. Search for "Microphone" and click "Balance". From there, set the sliders at the same value, click OK in both windows and you should be all set.

When I go to advanced, it shows that it's 2 channels. The mic output still comes out of the left channel, regardless of whether there's a balance button or not.
