Don't just jump on the Noctua bandwagon. You can easily get bequiet! or BitFenix fans which are both great companies and offer good products. Plus they don't use that horrid color scheme Noctua has.

Also, use the quote option :)

my current setup

GPU is a msi r9 390x gaming 8g (no overlocks)

CPU i7 4790k (no overclocks)

the two front fans are corsair sp120s

the rear is a 140 sp phantek fan

the top is a corsair af120

and I put a af120 infront of the gpu facing the side panel

the cpu cooler is a hyper 212

Why is the rear fan intake? It should be exhaust. Pull cool air from the front and exhaust it up and out the back/top. Heat rises.

what cooler have you for the devils canyon?

so what are your temps?

ambient temps are important too ( living in the sahara or on the north pole makes a difference)

i'd suggest turning the rear fan to exhaust

I have a Corsair H110. I idle around 40°c. I replaced the fans on it with Noctuas though.

When playing overwatch my cpu went up to 85 max but stayed between 78-83 c

GPU went up to 94c max on high settings and stayed between 75-89c

The core clock of the gpu also decreased from 1100 mhz to 1030mhz

did you try taking the air cooler off   !! WHILE SYSTEM IS OFF !!! remember to ground yourself ;)

and reseating it with fresh thermal compound?

Your airflow ect is fine.

Honestly, the best I could say is get better fans and a better cooler if you want cooler temperatures.

The fans are mediocre but get the job done just fine but if you want better fans beQuiet! or BitFenix have some good fans.

If you want a cooler CPU temperature, either go for like a BeQuiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 ( or similar Dark Rock products ) or go for an AIO.

From my experience, not much else you can do.

Also could my psu affect the core clock as I have a 650w psu

the psu is fine for your system even if you OC the CPU and GPU

the core clock on your GPU depends on the heat, if there is too much then it clocks down               if thats the question

if you sprint on a marathon and dont get enough "refreshing" then you continue walking

you should also keep an eye on a stronger CPU cooler as @DarkBlade2117  mentioned
