Do you need thermal compound for intel's stock cooling

I am building a pc with an i3 and will b using the stock cooling. Do i need to buy thermal compound?

If you're buying it new, no. There is a small layer of thermal compound on the cooler already

Maybe a negative difference, but the stock paste is fine.

No. You could clean off stock paste and replace it with aftermarket. That would give up to 5C better temps.
