Terrible like-dislike ratio on Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare trailer

I'd like to share my opinion on the current state of the Call of Duty franchise...

At this point, people are disliking the game for the sake of disliking it. Can you really judge a game by this trailer? Years ago, people were complaining that COD is copy and paste and so guess what. They changed it. We're in space now. You kept wanting change every year, and you got change every year. Now you turn your backs and say you want the old CODs back. You want COD to how it used to be. Besides, how exactly were IW going to realise that people no longer wanted the same copy and paste Call of Duty game two years back when they were already into development? People are complaining that the game is not boots on the ground, although this is a campaign trailer and there is already strong evidence to suggest the game IS boots on the ground, at least for multiplayer. Now this is what really grinds my gears... People saying that this game is still copy and paste?? Arguably this franchise has changed more than any other in the last few years. We're in space now, because you asked for it. What do you want? The reason for which COD games are going into the future is because you can only do so much in the past. People complained that the older games were too repetitive and that people wanted change. The future allows for that, because the future is unknown. The future is different. The future is not copy-and-paste.

This franchise is just goes round in circles.. :P

I don't like 2D games...I just couldn't get into them.. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

When adding a double jump to a game is touted as innovative...

nope, the dislikes are because the remaster of COD 4 is not standalone.

That's a good point. But still, many people are "fed up" of this futuristic stuff.

They can only do so much for a first person shooter franchise.

Im just fed up of their shit

the new game looks...meh, I mean if it was some new franchise I might be interested but COD in space just smacks of desperation and running out of ideas

Remastering COD 4 is just a play to increase sales, and I bet they fuck with the forumla too or people realise it isnt as good as they remember

I've given up on Call Of Duty. I don't to be playing where people are jumping and walking on walls. I don't "specialists" which own of their weapon. For example, Black ops 3 is a prime example of how the game ruined the franchise for me. The game is to fast, every where you go get killed either by someone who's camping or running on the wall. I just want a game that is simple. Too bad they don't even bother asking the community and what THEY want.

I'd believe you that Activision Blizzard was trying to innovate in using the near-future setting, but considering the number of near-future shooters that came out last year (I can only quote Titanfall / Destiny off the top of my head), this is them riding a wave of popularity, rather than making it themselves. So while I'm not into shooting games, I couldn't find the appeal of another futureish shooter from activision even if I did. This really looks like Activision is trying to "play it safe" on gameplay and counting on the franchise fans / the COD4 remaster / marketing to make the profits they want.

That said, I don't think the rate of dislikes on a Youtube Video actually speaks to the quality of it itself. The like / dislike system is emotional at its core. I "like" something if it makes me feel viscerally good, and opposingly so when I dislike it. So I have a hard time getting conclusive information out of a dislike bar. Just that people don't like it. But the world is full of stuff that people need, and don't like. Like dates with the dentist :P
