PC build ideas that look cool to non-tech-savvy?

HeyKitty

So I own a PC repair store, and I got several festavals and such I am attending, so I wanted to build crappy spec computers that can run slideshows/internet that look balls-to-the-walls eye-grabbin awesome.

No fire.

Has to be suitable for large crowds.

Can not be offensive.

The normal person has to think it looks awesome, so LTT build won't work because that is NOT my market...

I am thinking of getting a cube case and making a Minecraft case.

Any good places to go for just learning more case modding?

(also, I am trouble-shooting a keyboard that keeps derping, so sorry for the rambling.)

THIS IS MY SUPER TEENY TINY SIGNATURE!

Ain't it just the cutest little signature.

Some would argue it is the cutest little signature ever.

Build something in a noctis 450.  Make sure it has lots of led's. And loudness is ok, you will be at a festival, so feel free to get the cheepest derpiest most horribly loud led fans you can to save a buck. Also, if you want to mod, get a raspberry pi and a small screen, mount the screen in the drive bays, and have it show images/videos/stuff of your choice. Another fun thing is buy an ignition lock from a car junkyard and mount it in the front of the case as a power switch

Its automatic, just press this button!

Geil makes some pretty LED RAM, several boards come with built in LED''s and you can buy LED Strips for $15-20. So, that inside any windowed cases will look pretty good. Cable management really cleans the system up, too. So, look for a modular power supply to remove those extra cables. After that, you're looking at custom water cooling.

Stay away from LEDs and stick to a clean build with nice premium materials (Aluminium, wood etc) instead.

That seems more expensive with less "wow effect" than going with LEDs?

That may be true, but most non tech-savvy people think LEDs look stupid and like something nerdy 13-year olds would build. They might even be right (#OffensiveStatement).

I think he is calling out the overuse of LED's.

If you just do a quick search on Minecraft cases you can get some pretty good ideas.
It mostly looks like just taking the time to paint the panels.

Even I think that LEDs look tacky, but it depends how they are used. If you get a clean and suddle ilumination it looks good, if you have LEDs everywhere  (maybe even in different colours) it'll look like a 6yo build that pc.

Make sure the PC looks sleek and professional, but not boring at the same time.

you could get a raspberry pi and make a custom case for it, its small and cheap to make them, also should be easy to work with the projections

Make the case a dragon. Dragons are always cool.
