Recommend me a laptop

Thanks in advance for reading this.

I ain't big in the laptop playing area(last one I had was a Samsung Series 7 Gamer). And I'm to lazy to search for a starting point.

I need a robust laptop recommendation. Light weight, portable(business travel), sturdy and won't split itself into 2. No need for it to be high spec(Work laptop, no video editing, or rendering required).

There's no budget specified right now but if you need one $1500 and below. Throw some at me so that I can check it out :)

Loud and hot - ThinkPads are barely audible even under max load

Light weight, portable, sturdy, and not necessarily high-spec? Seems like you're looking for a macbook.

I love my 12 inch macbook, and would highly recommend it to anyone who travels a lot. Single USB-C can be a deal breaker if you plug things into your laptop a lot, but I'm not in that camp (in fact I just airdrop things via my phone 99% of the time). Battery life is good, it's snappy, and the screen is gorgeous. I can go into more detail upon request.

Edit: buy refurb if you're interested. I picked up the highest spec macbook from Macworld for sub $1250 (the starting price of the base model), and it came minty-fresh.  If I remember correctly, there wasn't even tax!

Weirdly enough. I did think of that, but the blade is pretty expensive. And I don't think I'll be needing the dGPU inside.

T460s: can put a NVMe ssd in it, 20% more performance with the same cpu because the TDP is 25 and not 15.

carbon x1: as thin as a thinkpad can get with a i5 or i7

x260: you can upgrade the battery so you have 15+ hours of battery life.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

The stealth doesn't have a dGPU only an i7 but apparently it has overheating issues so i would not recommend, for something similar in size check out the X1 Carbon i believe it is slimmer
