Hello,

I am planning to buy the cooler master CMStorm quikfire tk which was reviewed by Linus before. Anywho I am looking for a mechanical keyboard and saw that red cherry MX is the best for me so I am going with that. Any recommendations for other brands? Thanks!

You could look at Corsair's K70 or K65 keyboard or Ducky's keyboards (although I do not know if they have Red switches)

CM makes great keyboards. My quickfire rapid is amazing, the only issue I've had in four years of abuse is the cable is starting to go on me. Highly recommend. However, Have you tried cherry reds? To me, they feel a lot like membrane boards so if you like that feel, go for it. But if you want something different, see if you can go to a fry's electronics or similar store and mash some keys on a few different boards.

i suggest you testing a keyboard with cherry red before deciding,

i've always thought cherry red was good for me but i ended up with blue after i tested them out

its always good to test a keyboard and mouse before buying

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Well its a bit hard trying out a keyboard before you buy it online xD

any electronic stores nearby? thats how i test out the keys

just something to note: from my personal experience, tactile bumps are great for typing, but i find that they somehow get "stuck" when i double tap them quickly in games

maybe my fingers arent lifting high enough or i just tap too fast `-`

From my personal experience, I find brown switches to be the best allrounders Gaming / Typing.
They are fast and pretty silent but still give you a bit more feedback than the reds. And for typing they avoid having too many errors vs fully linear switches.

I have got a couple of different keyboards (diff setups) and both of which I love these are

1)Razer Black widow chroma

2) steel series m800(chroma edition)

Others that I like (Ps I have tried these)

1) roccat ryos TKL

2)corsair strafe(non RGB)

i do have reds too, they work fine for me with minimal mistakes after getting used to the keyboard. just bought it blind, but i got it for almost free so no biggie. having "electronics" stores nearby doesn't help, most around me don't even know what a gpu or mech keyboard is, they have few on display (pcworld/currys "megastore") so short of buying a tester with the 8 switches on it or something, not much to do. i find the gifs of how switches work helps me most.

also i strongly disagree that reds feel like membrane. reds are way way smoother and nicer to type on as well as less fatiguing. maybe closest to membrane, but feel far superior imo
