6600k and 980ti. Or wait for polaris/pascal and get an even better GPU.

you are best to go with the i5 and 980ti, its now a well known fact that that beefy 6700k will do you nothing other than sit there while you play games (basically no games need nearly that much power) and plus the 980 is a dwarf compared to the beast 980ti, i7's don't benefit gaming in anyway to

assuming 1080p gaming

i5 6600K + 980 is enough

but i suggest running the iGPU for now and wait for pascal

if you want better cpu horsepower then you can opt for the i7, it'll theoretically help in DX12 games, but only time will tell

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

actually, yeah you should probably wait, new broadwell-e CPU's are coming out Q2 2016, and pascal GPU's are coming out in june

Don't forget AMD! If Zen delivers it will be well worth the wait.

yep, polaris already seems to be a flop check out the NCIX vid on that, but zen will probs deliver, just more hyped for pascal i guess

I'd go with the I5 6600k and a 980ti! Simply because a better graphics card means more gaming quality and you wont need to upgrade it in the near future, where as the i5 6600k is a solid CPU and you won't need to worry about your processor for atleast 3-4 years and maybe even more :D . Cheers!

Polaris are probablly not going to be for high end gaming. AMD's Navi series ,which will probablly come out in 2018, is going to be a solid upgrade for us, the gamers :D
