AMD Radeon R7 260 Pictured, Features Curacao PRO GPU

Youbetternot

Additionally to Radeon R9 290X there is pictures of the R7 260, what a sexy beast!

The R9 260 series will be using Curacao GPUs. The R9 260 will use Curacao PRO and R9 260X will most likely use Curacao XT. Curacao is Pitcairn replacement. From the pictures you can notice a very unique blower type cooling solution. The card will require one 6-pin power connector. Detailed specs remain unknown.

I love the spiral red twist on the top of the GPU, makes me excited to see the Hawaii XT core cards.

So this is the replacement for the 7800 GPU?

Something in the 7800s series

I know the AMD Radeon R9 280X to replace HD 7970, I am going to guess something in the 7800s series or maybe just something in between the 7870 and the 7950

This will replace the 7790 if this is correct.

Edit: It's the 260, not 260X. I thought it was 260X. It will probably be in between the 7790 and 7770?

This will replace the 7790 if this is correct.

It also says that it has a Bonaire XTX GPU (R7 260X) and here it's stated that it has a Curacao GPU (found in 270 and 270X) which replaces 78x0 series. Contradictions :P

Am I the only person who thinks this looks horrible?

The reference 6870 looks much better.

Tahiti is already being used.

And rumors say it will be reused

So Tahiti isn't replacing anything as it's already being used.

It's replacing pitcairn's family line.

Replacing is such a vague word...
