Hi guys! Cataclyst here! i was planning to buy a new Headset because my current one (SteelSeries H Wireless) is starting to fall apart (e.g. the plastic covering the mic split in half, battery having problems, earfoam is starting to wear) so I was thinking of replacing it already. Currently, I am thinking about getting a Wired or Wireless solution(again). I like the Wireless Solution because it lets me hear my team mates when playing games or just keep talking to my friends even if I go and drink water or cook food. But I am willing to try the Wired solution if it gives more advantages and sound 10xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx better haha.

So currently, for the Wired solution, i was thinking of getting the K7XX Massdrop Red or the AKG 553 pro and then getting a Antlion Mod Mic.(Advise between the two headphones is much appreciated)

for the wireless...uhh, i dunno, another H wireless?( Siberia 800s now) or the Logitech one?

So my budget would be $450 in total(shipping included and all :D )

Thanks in advance everyone! :D

wireless (just to break the combo)

and also, depends on you, if you think wireless is worth it then go for it

it does require you to charge it and what not but if talking to your friends while cooking is awesome then go for it (not sure if the signal can go thru walls but yea)

Seems like everyone is just commenting Wired based on the topic header haha, i was actually looking forward for an in-depth discussion.

I like Wireless because: 1. Doesn't have any wires 2. Being able to stay connected with friends on skype even while moving around the house(Condo)

So i was hoping someone would actually say something about Wired solutions, like their Pros so I could decide on Wired or Wireless and if ever Wired. What's better AKG 553 Pro or the K7XX Red of massdrops

wired is the way to go, don't have to worry about batteries or having it die from not charging it

About this, the H Wireless comes with 2 battery packs...so i just do a hotswap whenever it dies so its not really an issue

i feel like you already made up your mind on what you wanted before you posted this (wireless) and you just made this post to get some reassurance on your making the right decision. because after all the wired posts you aggressed with the only wireless one.

Wired headphones has higher sound quality.
There is no such things as the best headphones. The 553 and 7xx are a little similar in their sound signature. The 7xx has higher quality sound and a much bigger soundstage, but they are also open, the 553 are closed so they have a smaller soundstage compared to the k7xx and doesnt leak sound.
There isn't that much to discuss here since we all know that wired headphones offer the best sound quality, but if you need wireless go wireless.

well you can easily look at the perks/cons of wired and perks/cons of wireless, find out what best fits you and then ask on here what is the best wires or wireless headset whatever one you picked.

Always wired... imo, it is a gimmick that only adds a point of failure/issue.  I game at my desk, not a couch (and if I do then I use speakers), so I never even look at a wireless audio product...

Both the AKGs are not bass heavy, they are both very neutral headphones where the 7xx are a bit more natural in their sound. Maybe look at Philips Fidelio X2, Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro for more bass. If you really want wireless, I would look at sennheiser RS line up.

Well they have more bass than the 7xx or 553, it's a long time since I have tried them, but if you really want bass look at HE 400s.

Nope, they are made so a phone can power them and if you still are a little unsure read my post about amps and dacs linked in my signature.
