Overclocking a 4690K

so i want to overclock my 4690k to around 4.2 ghz, i dont know much about overclocking CPU's and i have watched a few vids about it on jays channel and linus's channel. what settings would i be looking at in the bios for a 4.2 ghz overclock.

i know each CPU wont overclock the same but what should i aim for on things like the voltage??

My speakers dont even fit on or under my desk...PA's FTW

You could likely hit 4.2 on whatever your stock voltage is. I would guess 1.1-1.15v range. Set your core voltage to manual/static in the BIOS, change mult to x42, and see if it is stable.

well i would use Intel extreme tuner and Aida 64, you can change your overclock with IET without doing anything in the bios and then save it to the bios when you have something stabile. 4.2Ghz is going to be easy to get stabile but when you have what you want run a 15+ hour stresstest to see if its stabile or not, my preferd program for doing that is Aida 64

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)
