Well you'd most likely have to re-install windows or itll bitch about compatibility and configs endlessly but yes you can just hook the old drives up to a new rig and the data is still there, same as a thumb drive. As long as you new mobo has support for the gpu and the case fits it and the psu can power it then you can keep it. It sounds like you'd be just as well off to just upgrade the ram and the cpu (same socket) though.

So what's your budget and country?

Wait if you didn't have a strong PC to begin with why did you buy a higher end GPU?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Nothing you buy would be a major upgrade unless your parts are broken or something, just get an SSD, or a high end display, probably even free-sync just to save money on it vs G-sync.

Well buy some 40" 4k displays then man, you'll basically never have to replace it, or for around $600 there is a 1440p 144hz IPS free-sync display, G-sync one is like $750 though it's 165hz, not any real difference though.

Like the only major major upgrade you could do is go X99, but if you don't need the extra CPU cores, it probably wouldn't be worth the $500 jump.

maybe wait for zen or something.
