Upgrade or build new? help pls

Hi guys this is my first post here so lets get to the topic.

Can you help me decide between a new full computer or just upgrade this one, my current specs are:

Xeon L5640 6 core  lga1366 (not OC)

Gigabyte X58A-UD7

6Gb DDR3  pc312800 (i have a 2gb here on my desk to join the other 6)

Nvidia Gforce GTS 8800 Alpha Dog Edition XFX

Cooler Master Cosmos case

no water cooling or similar

What I dont like about this build is the gpu that is so old im impressed how they still update the drivers now and then, and the cpu is a server cpu yeah this shit lasts decades runing and never fails but still a server dedicated cpu.

So should I buy some water cooling, OC my cpu, Buy a new Gpu or just build a new one I have been planing for a while.

Btw this build would be for gaming major, and in the future I was planning on geting 2 monitors.

you can get a new GPU first, then a new cpu, motherboard and ram in the future if you're on a tight budget

or else, just buy an entirely new computer

though it depends on what gaming performance are you looking to get out of this rig

i would build new. you would essentially need to upgrade everything. its very useful to have another spare pc to use for rendering or other stuff. you cant overclock the xeon and that gpu is freaking old.

you could build a powerful rig these days for 1k $

Yeah the gpu I was already goin to buy a new one.
I guess ill do that, save money and later rebuild the rest since the gpu is the main problem
