Why is RE6 "remastered" on new consoles?

Why? To make money without expending effort.

Because somebody who bought it on PS3 would not buy it on PS4 without knowing it was remastered

But it's not remastered....

 

It was already fucking HD and the game uses nothing different just higher quality version of already available assets at 1080P.

It's also 60FPS and 1080p, so people who played it on last gen and liked it might want to pick it up for the better exp, and people who didn't get it last gen might want to play 4-5-6 before the impending release of 7 some time next year or whatever

 

Isn't this going to be the only 1080 60 version with co op?

its still considered remastered as far as console releases go

the definition of remaster, is to create a new master copy with better quality, and since consoles do not have dynamic quality settings they have released the game in higher quality for the newer consoles

So technically "remaster" is accurate

Doenst matter that the PC version existed before and was higher quality already, the MASTER copy for the consoles has been upgraded
