Problems with newest Nvidia driver (364.72)

i dont know if any one else is having this problem but i installed the newest nvidia driver (the one that optimizes vr support) and i have been having this issue where if i open an exe file or run things as admin windows will ask if i want to run this and after i click yes the gpu will stop displaying to my monitor and i have to turn off and on the monitor to get the image back. has any one else had this issue? i fixed it by rolling back the driver in windows

My speakers dont even fit on or under my desk...PA's FTW

The new drivers have had SO many problems that it's best to just roll back to 361.75

I want to bookmark every thread about Nvidia having driver problems, and then when people say how they´re more stable than AMD, link them to said threads.

They're more stable than AMD's drivers on Linux, but that's as far as the argument goes.

True, but when people talk about that they are generally referring to the current lineup.

Yeah fair enough, but even so, the 300 series is more efficient than the 200 series.  And it looks like Polaris is going to be super efficient.

Sapphire Nitro 390 runs at 70*C
Nitro 380 at 65*C

A whole 3*C higher than a 960/970 - wooohooooo....

Uh, who cares about a three gen old card?

The current nvidia cards have extremely low TDP compared to AMD's current cards

I was just making the point that nVidia wasn't always very efficient.  And their current cards run a couple degrees hotter than the nvidia equivalent.  "extremely low tdp by comparison"

Do you understand the difference between "temperature" and "TDP" ?

Clearly you dont

I can have a nuclear reactor work at -170C

Does that mean its TDP is lower than a GTX970? LOL

Hello ladies and gentleboys!

So in the last few days I have ran into a problem upon exiting or alt-tabbing out of games. My screens goes completely black with not as much as a sign of a cursor and they go into standby mode like it would if my computer shut down or I unplugged them. I am then left with 2 options, neither of which is desirable, either hold down the power button or use a pen to hit the reset switch on my case. In my event log right before it says windows was shut down wrongfully it usually (not always) say that the nvlddmkm has stopped working and was successfully recovered. Obviously not though because my screens are still in standby, and unplugging them and plugging them in again does not work, nor does anything else work other then restarting my pc, the improper way.

I have used the UDD to remove all Nvidia drivers, so that is not the issue.

Other then that I have searched around the web and found some different solution like THIS but for some reason it doesn't let me go through with this, my system is in Norwegian, so it could possibly be that but I haven't been able to find other CMD commands to use other then the ones in the article, so if anyone have any tips on this side of things feel free to share them, but if you think the nvlddmkm is not the problem then I am all out of option so any input is appreciated.

I have not tried to run my games window mode but having 2 screen it can become a problem when my mouse is on the other screen and I can't dodge something in game or whatever, and others with the same problem have said that is doesn't work running them in window mode.

I usually play on my AOC screen 144hz, I have not tried to play on my other screen which I guess I can try. But this happens in games that both runs in 144hz or 60 hz, so I have partially ruled that out, aswell as the fact that when my mains screen goes, my secondary also goes black and behave the same way.

Sometimes when my screen goes black my GPU fans spins as max RPM like they are under 100% load.

My GPU is not OC'd

My specs should be listed in my signature or on my profile. If anyone feel like they'd need more info I'll do my best to help but I cannot do much while I'm at work, I will however be able to do more when I get home.

Made this in another thread. I'd say I have some issues too. I've never experienced issues before with Nvidia and drivers, are they slipping? :o

I once explained to my girlfriend what true love is. I said, "If you were a shit, I'd put you back in" and to this day, she is still my little shit.
