US Dollars. Sorry for not specifying.

Considering recent pricing, I'd suggest going with the H7: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cryorig-cpu-cooler-h7

Hey, guys!

I am currently in the process of researching to upgrade my old PC. It currently has an AMD FX-8120 and a Sapphire HD 6950. My GPU is definitely due for an upgrade, but I need something else for today. My issue is that the stock CPU cooler for my 8120 is really bad. It is loud and doesn't really cool down my CPU as much as I'd like it to.

Does anyone know of any good CPU coolers that are compatible with the FX-8120? My budget is $70, but I'd like to keep it <$50 if possible.

Thanks!

You got a lot of choices, the Cryorig H7/H5 are my favorites (mainly because of looks), but they also perform well.

Cooler Master Hyper Evo 212, I think that's what it's called.

I just looked at the Cryorig H7...

That thing is HAWT! It also seems like it performs better than the Cooler Master Hyper Evo 212.

Do you know how loud they (the H7 and H5) are under load?

Thanks!

I'm using the BeQuiet pure rock. I heard it's not always available in every country but here in Germany they are cheap an you get them everywhere. I'm using it on an FX-8350 an it kepps it under 70°C at 4.3 Ghz so it should work fine on your CPU. Another great think is that you can hardly hear it.

Yes, correct. It is called the Cooler Master Hypere 212 EVO.

It looks like Cooler Master already launched a successor to the 212 EVO -- the Cooler Master Hyper 212X.

Quote

The latest in the extremely popular Hyper 212 series, Cooler Master’s Hyper 212X is based on the same patented CDC Quad heatpipe array as the 212 EVO but features several improvements that boost performance and further reduce noise. Thanks to our brand new Smart Engine and POM bearing, the 212X is incredibly durable and will virtually last a lifetime.

Hey,

Just looked at this. Seems nice!

Does anyone know how the Cryorig H7 and the Cooler Master Hyper 212X compare?

Thanks!

They perform similarly but the H7 is shorter and has better mounting hardware.

Under 70C at 4.3GHz? I had an 8320 at 4.4GHz than never went over 58C with a 212 Evo.

Edit: 70C is also above the 62C max temp that AMD specifies. Might want to check your voltages.
