Which mobo chipset should I choose?

Hello everyone!

 

I will be building my first computer some time soon, and I will probably get a microatx case. My cpu will be the g3258. Now I know that I can overclock this cpu on the H chipsets, but due to future proofing I was thinking about getting a Z board, because the first thing I probably will upgrade it the cpu, but not sure if I want an unlocked. Should I get a Z97 board?

And if no, should I just go with a h81 board or get a h97 board?

Definitely Z97 if you intend to push that little guy. Although unless you have a super tight budget or already have the G3258 I would probably go with a Skylake i3 due to the fact that old boards seem to be dropping off PCPP like flies.

If you can afford it get the  Z97, if not get the H81.  The Z97 is over the double the price so unless you can aford it without sacrificing to much I would, don't get the h97 because at that point you could almost but the Z97

I'd get the Z, I did the same thing awhile back for a CAD work PC. If I ever upgrade anything on it I will get a cheap 4790k off ebay or something if I find a steal of a deal on one.
