Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

5k is overkill. Want looks and performance?

It's for an editing PC, this means dual Xeons and a Quadro/firepro, $5k is not overkill.

So you add a Quadro GPU into the build and then include a shitty monitor that doesn't even support 10-bit color?

How serious of a video editing workstation do you need?  Because if all you're doing is video editing for stuff like lame tech review/unboxing videos on YouTube, you don't need a rig that costs more than $2000.  Even for professional videographers that record stuff like wedding videos, a $2000-3000 rig is enough.

It's the serious color graders and motion graphics artists who require expensive workstations for the Quadro/Firepro GPUs.

that moniter isnt even ips lmao

Yeah noticed that, and I can't find any other website stating that the monitor is 10-bit other than what the manufacturer website claims.  The monitor doesn't look like true 10-bit to me.

edit: saw other websites saying it is 10bit.
