Honestly, I think gloves are going to be what really sells VR outside of racing/flying type games.  Once you can see your hands in game, and organically touch and interact with items, that will be what sells a lot more people.  Plus if they can figure out some kind of force feedback, that would be the ultimate immersion.

 

I want to touch things in game, feel them, have them react to my actual hands.

Yes that is exactly what I think, one day we won't know whats real or fake. I look forward to it.

I doubt we will be able to have truly indistinguishable from reality VR until we can have direct brain interface to a computer simulation running on top of another biologically engineered brain cluster of sorts. 

 

At best we can hope for decent augmented reality system and some crude haptic feedback system that creates the illusion of touch to a degree coupled with it being an overlay and accepting the AR content will be easier than trying to get a perfect VR simulation.

 

You need light field projection, full body tracking/haptic feedback/temperature/... with unlimited motion (including implausible motions, zero gravity, ...), ...

 

With VR not being able to drive the limbic system of the body can cause instant simulation sickness and such full motion setups are impractically large.

 

Augmented reality gets away with it all because you will be constrained to real world physics and everything will agree for the most part so there is far less risk of simulation sickness.

This seems niche, like the stylus pen on tablets....I would rather have xbone or any infrared camera to sync with VR with multi-directional treadmill integration. I think that would be the real virtual world immersion.

Agree. To me, VR isn't worth it at all until this becomes a thing. 
Personally more hyped for AR actually.

I'm the opposite, not really interest in augmented reality. I like the idea of being in a completely different one.

I read through the requirements, not sure what rule wasn't met? searched magnus vr and received no hits.

Hmmm, depends how it will actually execute in games or whatnot. Quite more work to be done until VR games like action ones or more complicated like MMOs will be possible, with all kind of movement and 'do' stuff.

I think the fully "immersive" and "interactive" experience will truly advance VR tech.  Porn has never been afraid of future tech, and is usually willing to take more risks in uncharted waters.
