1) where be da rams

2) 2 tb hard disk offers greater value

3) an R9 390 offers better performance per dollar than the 970, so get a 390 if you dont need nvidia's features :D

4) you dont need 650W, i recommend getting the EVGA Supernova G2 550W PSU, its a great psu

5) where be your case

I own the ram and case I need nvidia features and all ready told u ill get 2tb

things I changed and why -

Cpu fan -

1. You dont need a aftermarket cpu fan if your not gonna overclock.

Ram -

1. You did not have ram on the other build.

HDD -

1. Seagate drives are unreliable.

GPU -

1. The 390 is better than the 970.

2. Its cheaper then the 970.

Case -

1. You didnt have a case on your other build.

Extra Fans -

1. You dont need extra fans it just makes it louder.

Fan Controller -

1. You can download free software that can control the rpm

2. Some Mobo have built in fan controllers.

Backplate -

1. 390 has a blackplate.

Overall the one I built is about $8 more but it is more powerful and looks badass.

Reliable $550 Starter PC (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/KGgpZL) *Just waiting for someone to need help with there ram so I can make a downloadmoreram.com joke*

Looks really good but some recommendations. get an i5 6500 instead and a cheaper motherboard. Also drop the 212 because you can OC with a non K chip anyway. At the very least switch to ddr4 and an i5 6500

Main PC |CPU - i7-6700k|GPU - R9 290x tri-x 4gb|RAM - 16gb ddr4|MOBO - MSI z170 - A PRO|HDD - WD 1TB/240gb Sandisk |PSU - 700w Raidmax

Laptop |CPU - i7 4720hq|GPU - 960m 2gb|Ram - 8gb 2x4|Model - y50-70 Touch|SSD - 240gb Patriot drive|Display - 1920x1080 IPS touch

Should go skylake, is your display only 1080p? because then a 970/390 would be overkill, also a 390 would be faster than a 970, and a 380 is going to be faster than a 960

why are you paying for a backplate? and why are you buying 5.25" USB 3.0 front header thing? Most cases have front USB 3.0

and don't buy a grey market key if you're going to buy a windows key

Also if you want more fans grab a 120mm fan 4 pack

What features? AMD has equivalent features in most cases, and you save $100 minimum on free-sync vs G-sync. in addition to 125% more VRAM, and from the looks of it better DX12 support at least in the case of the 390.
