Got my math backwards. 15 TB = 15360 GB -> $8000.00/15360 GB = $0.56 per gig. Thanks for the correction!

That's actually a big improvement for SSD's.

It looks like the projected price for this drive is $8000. That is $1.92 per gig?! That is crazy expensive! Then again, it is industrial grade...

That is $0.56 per gig.

Thats not bad considering its enterprise grade. If they get that down to $0.10 per gig Seagate and WD will not live for long.

Which would be good if they don't repeat the rapid SSD slow down problem. Their HDD in my experience have been a lot more solid than WD and Seagates (or at least the 2.5" Spinpoint drives and the odd looking 3.5' Spinpoint drives with thick black cast metal base (including sides) and oddly shaped steel top).

This could be amazing down the road for the consumer market. It might accelerate the change, SSDs are cheaper now, but it's still ways to go for mass storage.

Main Rig : 5600X, NH-U14s, MSI B550 Gaming Plus, 32GB DDR4 3200, MSI RTX 3070

Server : i7-7700k, Hyper 212 RGB, ASUS Prime z270, 16GB DDR4 2133, MSI GTX 1070

It's good by enterprise standards, but consumer SSDs are a lot cheaper than that already. The cheapest ones are between $0.20 and $0.25 per GB.
