I don't buy from people on eBay. I buy from eBay shops, as you get a third party warranty and cheap prices. I don't see how you could go wrong.

Make sure the seller has "buyer's protection" and see if they have a return policy.  Make sure you read the article carefully to see any hinting of any issues.  It never hurts to check the sellers history as well.  If it's a large company go Go Hard Drives that have a 30 day return policy, offer a free 1 year warranty and sell thousands a day, it's just like Newegg.com

EDIT: I do buy from people on occasion, but that's for like used graphics cards for a build or old memory.

My PC: CPU: I7-2600K CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Evo, Mother Board: MSI Z77 Mpower, Ram: 4x4GB DDR3 1600MHz CL9 Corsair Vengeance (Black), Case: HAF 932, PSU: CM GX 650 (Upgrading to RM750 soon), SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 120GB SSD, HD:  750GB Seagate 7200 RPM, Optical: Samsung Blu-ray burner, GPU: MSI GTX 560 TI Twin Frozr (Upgrading to an HD R9-290X on launch)

If you're smart about it (buying from a good rated seller & use paypal) than there isn't anything wrong with it.

i've found that there aren't very many amazing deals on ebay when it comes to pc parts. as far as trust goes... just like with anything, buy from a seller with a good track record... send messages and if you get prompt replies, not sure why it woudn't be safe to buy from them.

As long as the buyer has a lots of positive feedback and no negative it is fine.

Agreed, but have risked people and so far so good. The ridiculousness of the prices have made me risk people, can't beat a good price especially when it works!

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.

Ebay is totally fine, it's the people that use it that can be arsey.
I've been on ebay longer than a significant number of folk here have been shaving, I've had shadey geezers and top blokes but with experience you can know what they are before you bid.

Stuff I try to use;

AMD FX 8350 4.3Ghz, Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 Motherboard, 2x Asus HD6850, 8BG Kingston Hyper X RAM, Hyper X 120Gb SSD, Corsair GS800 PSU, Cooler Master HAF922 Case and my branes.

I'd say as long as the seller has a rating of over 150, then yes.

I don't usually buy stuff from ebay because I think its easy to get scammed imo. I would buy from a seller that has lots of positive ratings. Heard that if you use paypal you can get a refund back easily.
