Bios freeze and windows crash after oc try for 6600k

So yesterday I went 6600k at 4.4 ghz temps were at 42 to 53 and 1.26 V.

So I did nothing much went in pc bios rose it to 45 and booted windows cinabench crashed but kept cpu at 100% before start screen froze but hw monitor was working but windows defender poped about some security risk and windows crashed...

 

Now teying to get in bios freezes pc at bios select screen and recently I got in to bios and it froze at main screen showed full ram and cpu like everything was ok...

take out the little circular battery on the motherboard then boot

So baiscly I take it out and put it back in or take it out and boot without it?

No, put it back in and try to get to bios. This will clear out your OC setting.

Ty I will try this but checked manual has nothing about it but found battery spot

Here.

 

  1. Take the little battery out
  2. making sure everything is unplugged (USB, power, monitors)
  3. press and hold the power button for about 3 seconds.
  4. Let go and wait about 2 seconds.
  5. Repeat Steps Three and Four, 2x more
  6. Replace the little battery.
  7. Replace anything you had to remove to get to the little battery.
  8. Plug in all your peripherals and power cables.
  9. Boot up and you should have cleared your CMOS.

Wait so I need to unplug motherboard cables all except power? do I unplug gpu too?

No just the Power Supply from the wall, and Ethernet cable since it carries power. I just  unplug all the outside I/O to be safe.

 

Since i don't know what motherboard you have im just assuming you MIGHT have to remove your GPU to get to the battery. Although you if you don't thats great!

Ok ty every1!!!  is it safe to try oc again? Or I shoudnt try over 4.4ghz?
