What is the best 1440p monitor I can get?

mrchow19910319
Go to solution Solved by connorpiper,

Either Dell P2416D or Dell U2515H.

The Ultrashap is pre-calibrated. But both have the same quality of panel, plus the same stand.

I am currently using a Dell P2416D monitor.

It has a IPS panel, but I feel that the viewing angle and color accuracy is not as good as my old Dell S2340L monitor, is it just me? Or anyone has similar experience?

So, my question is if I wanna upgrade in the future, what are the best 1440p/ 2k IPS monitor I can get?

I do not need 144Hz monitor, coz I do not have a graphic card that can push that many pixel to the monitor anyway.

I am using a GTX780 from Asus.

My ideal brand are: Dell and Asus.

Personally I had been very satisfied with dell's product, in my house I still have a 10 year old monitor that from Dell that works super well, without any defects what so ever, still live and kicking.

So lets rule out AOC or other brand.

I do not have a budget in mind.

Any suggestions are welcomed.

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.

That would be this: http://www.amazon.com/Dell-UltraSharp-U2515H-25-Inch-LED-Lit/dp/B00SPWPF1O

Neither dell nor asus make their own panels, but the dell ultrasharp line uses only "A+" rated panels from ?LG?. Either way you literally can't buy better panels at the same resolution and refresh rate.

I'm pretty sure all Dells 16:9 and 16:10 monitors use Hitachi. While the 21:9 use LG panels.

Can confirm the U2515H and U2715H at least also use LG panels.

Forgot AH-IPS is LG. P2416D might have a IPS-Pro panel. Unless it is a AH-IPS aswell. But the back light placement looks like a Hitachi one. (I own one)

The P2416D has pretty small bezels. At least compared to my SR2320L.

I love my monitor, and 1080p is dead to me.

I recently bought the Dell U3415W and it is an amazing monitor but it can cost up to $800 and ultrawide isn't for everyone but if you do like it you wont be displeased with it. If I wasn't going ultrawide for 1440p I grab the Dell U2715H.

In order to buy something that high end, all I need is a small loan of a million dollars.

Pretty sure that monitor is only 60hz, and if you are playing FPS games, then I would recommend getting 120 to 144hz...but maybe that's just me.

The best of IPS is not 120 or 144Hz. Just the way it is.

Well I think that at least I need a GTX980Ti in order to fully utilized 144Hz 1440p monitor.

For some games maybe, but I honestly think the 780 is probably plenty for most, especially for something like CS GO.
