90DEGREES!?

My APU is running at 90C!

Its not even under load, and the laptop does not feel hot.

Could this be a glitch?

can you go in the bios and see the temp there?

i would, if you have one stick a thermometer probe against the heatsink of the laptop to see if its really that hot.

Well that's a bit odd, I would try restarting your computer, and then check again, might be worth returning it if it doesn't fix?

Laptops are perfectly capable of being overclocked. You just need a good laptop.

 

If the air is not hot/excessively warm coming out of the exhaust than your perfectly fine and it seems like an error on the chip responsible for recording temperatures. I would take it in for warranty and see what they have to say about it.

my cpu on my laptop gets 80 degrees on idle without custom fan curve. it is madness.

What I did was turn it off and put two 80mm fans on the bottom. It is not over clocked and nothing fancy has been done to it. I can't take it in for warranty until next saturday

If it isn't actually that hot, perhaps the thermal sensors for the CPU are broken. I don't know how hot APUs are supposed to run though.

I think AMD processors have a thermal max temp of ~65-70 degrees C. You shouldn't be able to hit 90 without the PC shutting down.
