With my laptop I would hit 99 degrees just watching streams on Twitch TV. It'd get so hot that it would have to throttle down to try and lose some of that heat... Yeah... Why don't you get a can of compressed air and shoot it into the air ducts?

I would take it in for and get the people to check it out when they can. Also why not just see what temps others are getting with this to see if it is just you.

I just turned my laptop back on, its at a normal 35C. Could it just have been a software glitch?

So its probably a glitch right?

Sorry im kinda freaking out.

I'd bet it was a software glitch. You should still get it checked, but I wouldn't worry too much. Nothing was damaged, and it is running at a lower temp now, so no harm done :)

Does the bottom of the laptop get so hot that when you touch it it's like you touched an iron? Yeah... My laptop did that...

I was working on a gaming laptop for a friend one time and i thought the thing was going to burn out it was running so hot for what I'm use to like i want to say over 90c and the company support say that is within normal operating temp and I was like wtf that is normal for just booting into windows lol. I called bs to that but i think it had to do with running a live cd but it ran that hot re-installing windows as well as i can recall until it booted into it

I am pretty sure its a glitch just check with HWMonitor also and see if it reaches 90C when idle again. If it doesn't happen again, it could possibility be a glitch with the sensors.

You still might want to be careful and check it out some. It ought to be fine, but still. What programs were running? see if you can replicate the problem.
