So my friend is looking at GTX980ti from Gigabyte what is a differences between G1 and this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-Nvidia-980Ti-Graphics-Pci-E/dp/B013J7SGV0/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1454272587&sr=8-13&keywords=GTX980ti

It just appears to be that there's a different cooler but one is in the Gigabyte G1 Gaming series so it probably has some better OC features and stuff like that.

Yeah, probably xD. It looked like they were both made by Gigabyte so just put model numbers into Gigabyte's website and work out what the differences are from the specs.

G1 will most likely OC further than normal 980ti because it's picked by Gigabyte to run at higher speeds.

You're going to be limited by that 4460 by the way, do you have plans on addressing that concern?

people told me I5 4460 can't be bottlenecked even by Titan x but i'll get new CPU.. a good one..

My G1 Xperience.

I've had TWO G1 970's (Known for decent memory clocking as well as core clocking) due to higher binning.

My first one, didn't OC at ALL on the memory (not even +50 without artifacting, yet stock memclock is fine 24/7)

The core however, managed 1550Mz in all games, 1565mhz in most games (still deemed unstable tho, so 1550mhz it is)

This 2nd one, does 1525mhz on the core, a slight drop, but the memory can do 1935Mhz (3870mhz effective) which is a nice gain.

But as far as the G1 binning process, I'd say yes and no, you could still get a bum-card that does not OC that well.

(Friend also bought G1 970, his mem does not OC at all either, but his core gets 1545mhz stable)

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

I'm doing this for a friend.. i have jumped from GTX980ti to Fury X lel (I didn't have G1)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-Nvidia-980Ti-Graphics-Pci-E/dp/B013J7SGV0/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1454335105&sr=8-9&keywords=GTX980ti

But i think he wants a approval from you guys to go with normal GTX980ti.. cause g1 is 65$ more.. He could OC that GTX980ti and get same result as G1?

Or he should just get Fury X? like me? or that GTX980ti is still better? hmh
