I have the X-Star monitor, my only complaint is the stand is kind of flimsy. Though it's on a VESA mount anyways so it doesn't matter.

I received one with no dead pixels or back light bleeding. I ordered mine through that vendor on Amazon, shipping only too 3 days from Korea and it was only $12. A shame my prime membership didn't apply :|

Would not touch these korean monitors with a 10 meter long stick

it's in general a bad idea to touch a screen with a stick....

The Qnix has the best colours out of all the Korean panels. If I'm correct the Crossover has the best build quality.

I am actually going to buy one of the Korean monitors close towards christmas or maybe just after new years. I saw one going for £199 on Ebay before. I am waiting simply because I want to see what else comes out from Korea incase they come out with one that has much better build quality or maybe even a 4K monitor.

I'd say go for an ASUS PB278Q, it's abit more expensive, but it's IPS, and from a good company.

I have heard great things about the Yamakasi - Paul from Newegg has the 30" x1600 version and enjoys it.

i think for us and canada at least, you can get dell u2713hm for $550 on monthly sales with 3 year advance replacement warranty.

if that's not bang for your buck, i don't know what is.

Monoprice has their version now, its an LG panel and i have heard the casing and stand are better on it then the Korean, however it is the same panel that the LG Korean ones are.

From everything I have read on them it is as good as all the other LG Panel Korean monitors as it is using the same panel. If you are looking at the Korean monitors in the end you get what you are paying for.

It's true. Compared to higher end monitors I wonder what is so wrong with it because those results are pretty atrocious. It's way too bright, the blacks are more of a grey, the contrast ratio is pretty low, and the reds and greens are over saturated heavily. It's not the panel either it's something going on with the rest of the monitor.
