Edit: If you really can, save up for a decent case. I made this mistake and have spent lots of money on cases now, for one build that i built last August. (Save for a case, run in test-bench if you have to)            In my opinion

 

Edit: Unless thats the case you really want and you are going to use it for a few years

YES!!! I was stupid enough to think that it was better value for money..... I had read on the PcPerspective (amd fan boy heaven over there) forum that amd = value for money but it does not. You are better buying an i3 than you are an Fx6300... At first i thought my 6300 was on par with an i5. Its not... Its similar to an i3 that outperforms it in some areas.... Shame i found the LTT forum after i had built my system

You could even go with inbuilt skylake gpu and at least you would have upgrade path. 

So my offer is

i3 6100 ~120$

gigabyte h170 d3hp ~110$

wd 1tb blue ~50$

8 gb ddr4 (single stick latter can do upgrades up to 32) ~45$

Case nzxt s340 or corsair 200R ~60$

EVGA 600W bronze 80+ psu ~45$

Gtx 960 which ever is cheaper from msi/gigabyte/evga/asus ~180-200$
