Rampage IV Extreme Raid 0 - Windows 7 Installation

so I switched to ivy bridge e last night. installed the rampage iv extreme and flashed the newest bios. as i was running two ssds in raid 0 as my boot drive before i assumed that i would just need to recreate the raid volume and reinstall windows. but when selecting the volume to install windows onto, the raid volume does not show up. i can only select one of the two external drives and one of the 3 internal drives.

I originally wanted to rebuid windows out of a backup, but after a day of frustration, i would be happy to do just

do a fresh install ...
