5820K or 6700K ?

So I'm looking to upgrade my system. Not sure which one to go with. My current system is:

I7 2700K@4.5GHz

32G DDR3

R9 290

Last night was playing a game and recording it at the same time also had Twitch stream up and had music playing in the back ground. Was starting to see the game lag here and there so I looked at what cpu and ram was doing and cpu was stuck at 100% and ram was at 50ish%. Now I know I could cut the cpu uses down but this is how I normal play games.

What I am wanting to know is which would be better? Would the 6700k being newer but still a quad with 8 threads be fine with that kind of a load, or would the 5820k (older) be better suited for workload with it having more cores and threads?

\\Windows Drive:Intel 510120G SSD\\ //Cooling: Thermalright Ultra 120\\ //Fans: BitFenix Specter Pro 120mm\\ //Video Card: Sapphire R290 VaporX//

Even if he can afford it the 5960x is a waste of money for just a gaming rig.

Yea the 5960x is out of the question. Not paying 1000+ dollars for a cpu.

Around 900.00 to 1000.00 for cpu, motherboard, ram, and cooler.

That's not a bad setup at all. Though, I would totally look into getting that CR down to 1 if possible.

Why the Hyper212 Evo? Does he need both coolers? Even then, that 212 Evo is going to struggle to do anything with that 5820k.

Going with the Corsair h100i GTX for which every cpu I go with. Always had massive heatsinks before. Wanted to try somthing different.

Just for choice not everyone wants water cooling

But the H212 Evo is not even a close comparison to the H100i. If he wanted an air cooler that could lift, then the Phanteks PH-TC14PE, or the Noctua D14/15 would be a more fair comparison. Both of which are still cheaper than the H100i as well.

Thanks for the info on the air coolers as I haven't looked into them really as I perfer water cooling.:)

No problem. I am a huge fan of the Phanteks cooler i listed earlier. That thing is about as close to closed loop performance as you can get on an air cooler.

CPU is good enough, upgrade GPU instead.

Otherwise, get the 6 core chip.

You're obviously missing the point here, his cpu is at 100% because he streams and record while gaming, that why he needs a better processor which the 5820k would help him a lot, since it has 2 more cores.
