memory decreasing in task manager

Hello,

The amount of ram in machine keeps going down according to task manager:

 

Im taking about this number

Earlier today it was saying 7.9 now it says 7.4

 

Is this just a bug or is there something wrong

This is on a clean install of windows 10.

it recognizes that you have 8GB total but then shows the total usable memory. not sure what would be eating you RAM but try installing different RAM and see if it appears again if not RMA the RAM your currently using

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Windows Task Manger is fk'd. Check what is says in your BIOS for available/installed memory. Confirm with a tool like AIDA, which should show the actual value.
