Two Questions about the i5-3570K

So a buddy of mine is trying to sell a i5-3570k that he never got around to using due to some financial issues that showed up half way through his build.

 

So my first question is how much would a never used i5-3570K be worth atm?

 

As I was looking around to try to find other i5-3570K's I couldn't find a whole lot of them and NewEgg doesn't even have them listed anywhere without going deep in the site.

 

My second question is, why can I not find that CPU anymore? Did they stop production on it or is it just an extremely high demanded CPU?

it's 8% behind a 4690K so it's at least 170$

If it's still unboxed I'd say about 25% off of whatever the current RRP is.

 

Also I can find loads of them...haven't checked newegg though just a random google search.

Since the i5 3570k is a 3rd Gen i5's and now there are 6th Gen i5's, that is why it isn't being made anymore.

You will no longer be able to find new i5-3570ks, thy stopped production a while ago and you can only find them on e-bay now. A used 3570k would be about 100$ IMO

Second hand the CPU goes for 110-125 or so euros where I live.

Maybe it is worth a bit more if it's still factory sealed. Just kinda depends on where you are from and how the second hand market is.

Depends from condition of CPU and package.

Most go for $115-165 on ebay (U.S.) regardless of condition. NIB might be able to scratch ~$180 but it's pretty doubtful.

 

Yes, they stopped production years ago. Ivy is now 3 generations old.
