Suggesting of cpu's for gaming

Go to solution Solved by Benji_w,

yes but at that price, go for an i5. the whole point of going for amd is to save cost. if not, then just get the i5 :) sure its boring and cant overclock, but it just works better.

cheapest 4460 http://pcpartpicker.com/p/H2NFQ7

better 8320e http://pcpartpicker.com/p/MDFrdC

This, the i5 is a better CPU like we keep saying and a decent motherboard for the i5 will have more features.

List the games you wish to play. Some will run better with the intel CPU some will run on par.

-csgo

-BattleField

-Gta V

-Far Cry

And maybe a little bit of recording / editing but nothing much

So, i should go with the i5 if i am wanting to play certain games on low/medium settings with 30-60fps? Or will the 8320e processor do the job?

the 8320e + the r9 3804gb will get alot done. u wont be running any game at low or medium. high is the lowest i would say.

the 6300 might choke a little when broadcasting/recording. but the 8320e will be fine. If you are still worried get the gtx 960 and use shadow play instead. but the r9 380 will be fine.

An i3 will create a significant difference between the two:

OP is more suited to get an i3 for other games anyway since most games like individual core performance.

Stock FX chip there next to the intel that's overclocked. FX is easier to Overclock too.

FX cpu is better suited for you then if it's in budget, it won't struggle to play those at all.

Most games require four threads and the i3 provides it. If you're not willing to pay that much for a i5, get an i3 instead.

And CS:GO hates AMD CPUs.

Not true, I get 120 FPS +  on max settings.

He's using the same as me, I wouldn't recommend it though, it gets pretty hot, the E chips are much better for overclocking in run cooler.

I really couldn't recommend this, if you do get one then pair it with a high end board and overclock it. Asus sabretooth or ROG, I would recommend the E chips over the 8350.

Should have elaborated and said in comparison to Intel CPUs.

But seriously OP, you can afford an i5.

Hell, in gaming, a cheap i3 4170 will do better than the FX-6300.

I hate it when noobie's don't listen to suggestions.

I agree, if an i5 is in budget that I'd get that over the FX. Depends on the OPs parts list, I couldn't run a PC without an SSD for example.

both build works great.. the amd can do some mild oc, but dont expect to hit 4.6/4.7 ghz on that mobo and that cooling.

that being said the intel doesnt need any overclocking. less heat for the whole pc as well.

Most games need quad cores. Atleast the games i enjoy playing

Build the PC that he recommended you, trust me it's ideal. There are no issues and it's the best value.

H81 boards sort of suck, I have one for my HTPC. They have like 4 USB ports.
