Windows 10.

JEW UNIT NY

Hey everybody. Hope everything is well. I am just wondering what is the general consensus of Windows 10? I am building my first gaming pc and was wondering if I should upgrade to Windows 10. I currently have Windows 8.1 and love it (after I bought a copy of startisback). Is it worth it?

I'm going to be using mostly for gaming and productivity (word, excel, ect). I will probably start getting into video editing (for youtube) and streaming (via twitch).

snip

I think the start menu they have implemented in Windows 10 is very clean and nice, haven't used a third party start menu since upgrading.

In general it is cleaner and brings performance increases all round.

Just make sure you clean install after upgrade!

I've also enjoyed Windows 10; it has less problems than Windows 8 and it actually has a good start menu.

Pro Tip: don't use flash when taking pictures of your build; use a longer exposure instead. Prop up your camera with something (preferably a tripod) if necessary.

if you use retarded/autistic/etc to mean stupid please gtfo

Get it! So much easier to use and more like windows 7! I have noticed a small performance increase since upgrading, but clean install after you have upgraded!

Its very good

Almost everything works on it

And now you can do a clean install without doing the upgrade, just use your 8.1 key to activate it directly

btw dont worry about all the "spying" BS, its just a bunch of paranoid users who dont understand how the world works and think that stopping windows 10 spying makes them have more privacy

If I were on Windows 8/8.1, I would upgrade. Though, I would still prefer to stay on Windows 7 as I am now. However, don't forget to disable some of the settings that enable Windows 10 to spy on you. If you don't know what to turn off, check out Barnacules' video on it... it is pretty in-depth and goes through the whole process of getting your privacy back on Windows 10

Definitely worth the upgrade. Cleared up a huge portion of my hard drive space which I do worry about since it's only a single 500GB drive. I've noticed faster boot times, and my system hasn't crashed once since the upgrade.

Unlike others, i had really bad experience with Windows 10. I had sluggish performance, lack of drivers (most notably Intel GMA Driver, which worked just fine on Windows 7 and 8), it takes 10 seconds to open Start Menu (which was almost instantaneous on Windows 7 and 8) etc etc...

So I installed Windows 7 and when compared to Windows 10, it's day and night how much better Win 7 is.

So, if you have:

Low-end system - Stay on Windows 7 and 8

Mid-range to high-end system - Go for Windows 10
