Scrapyard Wars Inspired 2016 mid level gamer for my dad!

Spottie631

the reason i put the cx600 was really just cause i got such a great deal for it. it also has the headroom if i decide to go with lets say a 960 it probably will be fine... its been running fine with stable voltages for a week now... i kept a close eye on everything a few days with hardware monitor while i did some extended benching everything was stable. no crashes to speak of. all the temps are frosty but its basically in a wind tunnel the 6300 maxed out @ 48C under load and the 750ti is max at 40C. the motherboard temps are normal although i think i may grab some heatsinks at microcenter for the mosfets just to be a geek about it.

Jesus christ man, nice temps! The TX-3 Is pulling its weight!

Please incline me on how so, seeing as the CX PSU's run stuff perfectly fine.

And guess what, I am 90% The EVGA 500B Didnt exist when I bought it.

Oh, would you look at that, it didnt. And I got the CX On a deal.

Only place I could find selling it, 2X The price? No point, without the £5.48 Shipping.

Fun fact, EVGA B1 (that one) is a cheap HEC (Compucase) unit that is just as bad as the CX :D. B2 are the solid Super Flower ones.

yeah, i was quite shocked as i have an evo 212 push pull on my 8350 and i never see temps that low... i was actually kind of weary about the tx3 but it was on sale for $18 a few weeks ago so i figured id give it a shot. i blame my r9 290 for the higher temps in the 8350 build though. i mean i stay around 50C with the 8350 so im not losing sleep over it.

Speaking of superflower, I happen to be running something you would like, Leadex Platinum 1200W.

"Mine is an early 2013 unit (the 430, 600 is 2012 and the 600m is 2013)." Same.

Fun story. My S12G cost me 220lv

CX costs 160lv

CS costs 200lv

S12G is tier one

CS is tier 3

CX is tier 4

Yeah a lot of the ones you find around the price of the cx600 here are lower ~400w capacity s12ii ones there are some of the higher capacity but questionable xfx ones with very weak 3.3/5v rails floating around though which are otherwise decent.

$30 for a cx600 from ops list is a pretty fair price though IMHO :) it'd most most certainly run that computer

I just jizzed in my pants

you'll have to twice then cause i have one on the way as well.. a guy listed 4 on ebay for £90!

for perspective when i got my first cx600 in 2012 the alternative was an ocz modextreme 650w (non 80+) at £10 more, and the cx600 was already £62 :/

they're closer to 50 now though iirc. the cheap 500 evga units can be had for around 40 as well
