GTX 960 or r9 380?

Hello my fellow techy pc people. My mind has been in quite the pickle trying to decide between these 2 cards. I am leaning more towards the 960 right now just due to their shadow play software, low temps, & low power consumption and good performance. The EVGA GeForce GTX 960 & MSI Radeon R9 are the same price right now for $230 which one should I go with? I know it should be a no brainer to go with the 380 due to performance and what not but I'm afraid of it over heating and shutting down on me. If you own either of these cards or just have advice on which one I should get pls halp thx bb.

I'm for R9 380 too.

Athlon X2 for only 27.31$   Best part lists at different price points   Windows 1.01 running natively on an Eee PC

My rig:

It won't overheat. No cards will except maybe a badly ventilated r9 290x. However at that price you can get an r9 380x, which will give you at least 10% maybe 20% better performance than the gtx 960. I would say r9 380x, but if you have to choose between 380 and 960 go 380.

If you get an r9 380x I recommend the Gigabyte one. With shipping it is 235 bucks.

R9 380, was gonna get a 960 but after a lot of research the 380 is just a lot better. I myself own a 380x just for the extra boost but not sure if it's worth it. Make sure you get the 4GB model also.

If you get an r9 380x I recommend the Gigabyte one.

NEVER recommend Gigabyte AMD cards. They don't cool themselves properly and are loud af

Oh ok my bad. I just know their Windforce cooler is quite good on Nvidia Cards, I guess it's different for AMD. Then go MSI

My brother has the Sapphire r9 380 4gb with the backplate and that thing looks sL1ck. It also performs much better than a 960 and the sapphire nitro cooler keeps it pretty darn cool. Would recommend over a 960

Which ever model you like the look of really, as long as they're both 4GB then they'll both do a top job.
