Google wants to eventually make brain implants

Google has a plan. Eventually it wants to get into your brain. "When you think about something and don't really know much about it, you will automatically get information," Google CEO Larry Page said in an interview with Wired. "Eventually you'll have an implant, where if you think about a fact, it will just tell you the answer."

I mean, this sounds...cool and weird at the same time. I dunno if I personally would get a brain implant, but who knows, maybe my mindset on this will change by then. It just seems kind of...weird. We may be on the dawn of the Deus Ex era, eh? What are your thoughts on this?

Oh and let's not forget ads in our heads.

Treat your local grammar nazi nicely and he might teach you a thing or two. (Note that I'm Belgian and not a native English speaker.)

This reminds me of Accel World with the neck mounted Neuro Linker and the illegal brain implants which are effectively the same as Neuro Linkers but have dark features

If we have SAO Nerve Gear, holy shit VR gaming would be mainstream and amazing. Simulators like MWO would be balling with it. Neuro Linker, texting in class while typing notes while watching YouTube while checking Twitter updates and etc all without the teacher giving two shots xD

As much as I want to be against this... I think it would be pretty awesome. I picture my phone in my brain all the capabilities of an S4 with charge coming from my brain and no fumbling with size or a screen. Adds could be horrific though and I could not see something like this being affordable, accepted, or even legal for a long time. I mean how hard should this be to setup?

Wow this is pretty scary imo. But this would take a while for them to make this come true imo.

Doubt it'll be within the next 100 years though. It'll be a decade before the general public accepts Google Glass.
