Should I up the voltage?

Go to 1.35V, go to 4.8 and see how far you can bring it down with it still being stable, if it's stable at all at that clock.

Sig under construction.

Should I up the voltage?

Nope. 1.3 is perfect.

Thanks I'll try that later.

Try 4.8GHz, or 4.8 On 2 Cores.

I don't really see the point in that.

Hey, More power for me!

In multi-threaded scenarios, it will result in less performance.

Well, I would do it on all cores not just two.

That's what I was mainly referring to. Overclocking it to 4.8GHz on two cores. If it's 4.8GHz stable on all four cores, great.

THat's good. Did you try to push a little further? like 4.8?

Don't up the voltage.

I'm surprised about that result. It looks like the i7 4790K and the i5 4690K can be overclocked to the same speeds.

Secretly I hoped to easily get 5GHz on that i7 because it starts with a higher base clock and I was able to put +1GHz on my i5 without increasing the voltage a lot.

So are those chips very similar expect the hyper threating and the L3 cache?

I5 4690K isn't that bad at it..

 on a sabertooth mk2 too.

Never tried more since i prefer noise to perf at the state i am atm.

I love the voltage being applied. 4.5GHz at 1.16V. Awesome.
