Help about G3258

thanks for this but currently where i live and store i have access are limited. I even found a Athlon 860K for a price of $159.54? i think thats a bit high for my personal Game of Choice.

we already tried G3258 with another i3 4170 and if you where here with us the only difference we notice on Dota 2 Reborn is that the i3 is doubled the price.

i would agree but will the $64.89 compare to $159.54?

there are no R9 380 4GB FTW in my Counrty, and the SSD ill go and take a Screen Shot if i got time to go to my friends house the PC we Build really only use 30GB and we only turn it on for like 2mins and we are already in the game so i really dont think that ill spend more cash on high end SSD that the only purpose of the SSD will be just game no productivity included.

same at the top

AMD Cards are hard to come by here.

Give us a shop and a budget?

I actually did a test. I did it at 720p minimum and 1080p maximum. Literally no difference in CPU usage or framerate. The game is optimized like trash, but it's so fun. Why peoplethatportedit, why...

Yeah, it's weird. GTA IV is one of the worst optimized games that I've seen while GTA V is one of the best optimized games I've seen xD

I get solid 30FPS in GTA IV, i capped it though or it would do upwards of 50FPS then drops to like 35 making it look odd..

i never got the hyped about the pentium is just the price that get me off.

List of CPU that people suggest.

(G3258-$64.89)

(i3-4170-$118.08)

(i5-4460-$189.36)

(860k-$159.54)

As you can see why would i pay $50 more for an i3 that we already tested did absolutely nothing about on my current Dota 2 Game.

for the other question i really mean what i just told you guys the PC will be mostly be paying Dota 2 and CSGO.

we tested the Pentium with the i3 for the Game i mean the game alone i never felt any difference about it.

i3 is much more capable in games outside of those lightweight ones you are running.

From those I'd grab the i3. Pentium is an expensive toy that is useless. i3 has more cache, HT and an iGPU that's worth a damn. It's around 50% faster

The g3258 is fine for the games you want to play, though outside of that the i3 would be a lot better.

Also could you please link the shop you are buying from?

If you can, get an i3. It'll be best in the long run. If not though, then of the cheapest solutions a g3258 is fine. In many benchs it even beats the 860k due to its better single threaded performance. Still, just be aware that it's not ideal overall and you will struggle to run some of the more CPU intensive games.

Like for example in Amazon the Samsung SSD Evo 850 250GB will cost around $70-80 here in the Philippines it will cost about $120 so if your thinking about our decision about the parts we would loved to buy all the high end stuff but compare to the price of what we can really afford will be much better than not having any at all.

Actually, yeah. Go with the G3258 (if not an i3), it's a no brainer. I just looked up a bunch of benchs and it outperforms the athlon ii in most games anyway.

Thing is, the i3 is a lot better in the long run. Games that come out now don't really work with simple Dual-cores anymore and what happens when the next game you really want to try comes out? I'll tell you, you spend 140$ more to get an i3 since your GPU is more than capable but the blasted pentium is holding it back.

Got any benchs to show for minimums? Also he could always limit his game (depending on the game) to a more appropriate lock that'll reduce (if not eliminate) stuttering.

I'm saying an i3 will last you a LOT longer. Dota 2 is able to make use of 4 threads. That means, in big teamfights you won't drop fps as much and you will have a smoother experience without bottlenecks.

Witcher 3 stutters
GTA V stutters

Easy fix for FC4
GTA V & Witcher 3 appear to stutter from what I've seen, but they do so on the athlon ii x4 860k as well.

It will (assuming that dota 2 is CPU intensive... which I wouldn't imagine it is but who knows) but if he can't afford it he can't afford it. The g3258 is fine for dota 2 and CSGO. If all it can't run (without locking the fps lower to reduce/eliminate stuttering) are some of the most CPU intensive games I'd say he's in good shape.

The reason for the stuttering is that the Pentium handles 2 threads whereas the Athlon and i3 handle 4. That's all. Athlon doesn't stutter in GTA V or Witcher 3.
