But there are plenty of games that are objectively worse then things like Watch_Dogs or CSGO, things that are straight up functionally broken.

True, but I tend to forget about such things. I vaguely remember playing a nick cage dating sim some time ago, but I don't really think that should even be counted as a game.

 

It does make for more interesting discussion if we don't all just list the absolute garbage.

 

I do agree with you though, I really enjoyed watch_dogs, and while CS:GO isn't my thing, it is certainly popular for a reason!

I try to be a fairly informed consumer… I successfully dodge all the broken games, and I usually wait for reviews. So it's kind of a hard question and I'm left with an answer that I assume will raise some eyebrows:
 
I hated Mass Effect, despite loving ME2 and generally enjoying ME3. I thought the gunplay felt generic and dated and I despised the art direction and sound design. The loot/gear system felt terrible. And most damning for a game like that, I didn't even find the story or dialogue to be worth the effort. I gave it a full playthrough, and the whole affair felt like a terrible slog to me.

H1Z1 - Broken mess full of hackers and a bad payment system history and future.

CS:GO - You guys know why.

Payday 2 - Good game but has went down hill, again due to micro transactions.

Ark:  Survival Evolved - Another one of these games, badly optimized.  I will say that unlike others in this genre, it looks to be moving faster in early access.

Oh I agree, that's why I did say it is being developed and fixed rather fast compared to other early access games in that genre.

A $29.99 alpha. They opted-in to taking money for an unfinished product, it's fair game.

Yeah that's a trend that I pity. You also have to give Blizzard Entertainment credit for full games that they take as much time as necessary until they feel that their next game is complete, which is why I would want to work with them. They care about the quality of their games, just like how I would care about my games when I develop them.

I don't know anymore. I've wasted so much time on D3 which ultimately was dull in gameplay since it offers no real challenge. Also online-only DRM has drawn the ire from both gamers and critics alike. That happened to SimCity once.

No I played Reaper of Souls on my father's account. That's where I played D3, and honestly I am not going to buy it on my own account.

You havent played it right if you say its too easy. You can choose the difficulty.

Bad land missions, stupid real world plot, mediocre history world plot, broken controls, and doesn't look that much better.

Even then it's still dull and too easy. What makes it too easy you ask? The stupidity high expectation of instant gratification from gamers. People want to easily hit level 70 with no real challenge, and Legendary item drop rates are too high IMO. It's also not so punishing when you die compared to D2, where the punishment is lost experience, death toll, damage to your gear, and a corpse run to top it off. And yes when you do get best in slot gear, it becomes too easy and it gets drawn out faster than you think. I got 99% of the Wrath of the Wastes set complete and I ate Torment VI for breakfast and after some time, I was like "You know what, I'm done with Diablo III. I want a real challenge"

If you hate instant gratification as much as I do, we'll you'll be in for a real treat in the future. If not, then my simple answer is my games are not for you then.

D2 was the better Game, no doubt. But D3 was Designed to work on Consoles...should i say more?

I think it's one of.

 

Like there are some that are worse, but its the game that had the biggest drop from my expectations. I paid 41$ for it and it was such a chore to finish.

 

I'd put Outlast on the list as well.

 

This would be a boring thread if it was just collecting easy targets like Big Wheels, Superman 64, and Bad Rats.

 

I felt insulted at every corner at how dumbed down the game was and how intelligent it believed itself to be, especially with that infuriating ending.
