I got a great deal with someone, he is selling me an AMD FX-9590 Black Edition + Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 for 320 USD.

And he is also selling an Intel i7 3970X Extreme Edition for 350 USD.... I would need to get a mother for this which he is offering an Intel DX79SR for 200 USD

Or I can upgrade my current build to an i7 3770 for 330 USD
 

I only have about 500 USD to spend.

Intel all the way. It may seem biased but I've been using Intel CPUs and SSDs in all my PC builds for a reason. It just works and it works extremely well.

Considering you wouldn't need an extreme edition for gaming anytime soon, go for the 3770.

The 9590 is a horrible CPU that you should never buy.

At the end of the day, the 3970X consumes a lot less power, runs a lot cooler and performs a lot better at the same and lower clock speeds than the FX9590-you'd more than likely need a better PSU and cooler if you wanted to use it. The i7 3770 is slightly faster single threaded than the 3970X (note-slightly) however for what your computer will be doing and the way games are going+ the $20 price difference, the 3970X is by far the best value.

Second deal is probably the best. I would recommend just the 3770, however $330... isn't a good price for a used CPU. If he came down to a more reasonable $220 then sure.
