Getting connection Upstairs

youngben

Hi,

It is impossible for me to run a wire upstairs or switch my router to upstairs

What is the best method for reaching a connection upstairs on a PC

My brother will be gaming on it so I wanted the best connection, without having to run the wires.

So is a powerline adapter better, or a wireless adapter?

Powerline may be your best solution as long as your wiring in the home isn't too old since it relies on that for a good connection.

Powerline is the best choice. I have TP link units that work very well. Buy from Amazon and you can return easily if they don't work.

Powerline.

I understand permanent / in-wall installation of ethernet cable is often difficult but there is always the option of running a line outside the wall along the baseboards.  Some of us are old enough to remember houses that were not wired for phone lines back when they were built - so that's the way people often ran their phone lines when the walls were plaster and lathe, they even painted the wire afterwards.
