MAIL DELIVERY?

So

 

I come home one day and i see a package at my front door

Me: Hmm.. did not order anything from amazon... wonder what this is?

It is a box with the amazon tape that sealed it and it is from amazon...

I open it out of curiosity and see that it is just some stuff that i NEVER ORDERED...

i decide to let it be and just keep it because i have no idea who it was suppose to go to

Get another package today (about a week later)

a large ass package with amazon tape over it

 

kind of weirded out because i feel like i have some sort of weird admirer now but also thinking that it was probably UPS's fault for possibly misdelivering it

 

I open the package and inside it is office supplies, markers, outlet power extender, paperclips, paper, and stuff like that

 

the package has nothing at all showing where the fuck it was suppose to go

 

can i keep this?

i am assuming it was not for me but ended up at my house anyways lol

I thought there was something somewhere that said if a delivery service wrongly delivers something to you, you can keep it. I may be wrong though and making up insane things so I'd research around about it.

 

Edit: I thought a long while ago on the forums some dude got a small shed full of Apple iPod Touches and someone said since they were delivered to him he could technically keep them all. I think he ended up sending them back though because his moral code is higher than mine. :lol:

This happened to me once, call either the shipper or amazon. Most likely they will tel you to keep it or sent it back.

UPS is going to have to pay for it if they cannot get it back off you, but assuming they fucked up anyway, it's probably more hassle to try and get it back anyway.

UPS is going to have to pay for it if they cannot get it back off you, but assuming they fucked up anyway, it's probably more hassle to try and get it back anyway.

Umm why would you go to jail, you said there is no name on the package correct?

You only go to jail if you open mail (US) it is a federal offense.

There should be a packing slip in both packages with the Amazon order number.

 

Call Amazon, and tell them that you received these orders accidentally. If they ask you to send them back, only agree to it if they will send a UPS (or other courier service) driver to your home for a pickup.

 

They might just say you can keep them - that happens sometimes. But at least you'll have a clear conscience. Some people don't care of course, so do what you feel is right. If you don't care and just want to keep them, then do so.

If the mail is in somebody else's name you can go to jail.

 

Amazon delivery is not mail. Call amazon or the shipper and see what they say.

When I got a mis-delivery they told me to keep it as it would cost to much to retrieve it.

Just call them, you wont pay for delivery charge since it was mis-delivered.

i would say call ups saying you got stuff you didn't order you shouldn't keep it just in case their is some weird law that considers that stealing (it is considered a fedral crime in the usa to open and keep mail thats not addressed with your name on it even if its the same address)

No, they delivered it to you. I would still contact the local shipping company and inform them of the mistake so that they can take steps to avoid making the same mistake. I'd return it, but that's just me.
