In theory, if you had a custom made block, maybe, but why the hell would you?

Well, of course it's possible. You'd need a custom block, though... But why is the bigger question...

If it's overheating, then it's dying anyway and watercooling won't save it.

 

Optical drives need air flow and breathing room, watercooling would not be a good idea.

Why the hell do you want to cool a disk drive. Who even uses disk drives any more. They should run fairly warm considering theirs a fast moving disk inside. I highly doubt that the temperature of it is going to make it die. Buying a new one is like 20$ while water cooling it will be a minimum of 100$.

Do they sell any that come already water cooled? Like the AIO coolers for cpus?

Just dont even try, I dont think it exists, and its completely pointless. They dont even get that hot, and if they do, you can combat it with some new case fans

I use one....I just prefer it for drivers and installing windows. Even though its easy with a usb stick or from online, I just prefer. Have had some bad experiences in the past lol

I'm with you on that. I need an optical drive to produce proofs for things and might have to leave it on the job site disks. If a DVD or CD disappears I don't care, but people swipe flash drives (or you lose them) and that costs money.

An optical drive is not something you should be attaching sentimental value to.

Just replace it.

 

If you must, keep the old one as a souvenir.

Hey mate, I just lost my stepmom so I get the feels. Maybe put it somewhere so you can keep it safe? Maybe use two optical drives and just dont connect the old one?
